History of Windsor Now

Windsor Now 423 Main St. Windsor, Colo. 80550 (970) 674-1431

Name and location:

Windsor Now
Windsor, Colo.

When was it founded and by whom?

Windsor Now is a product of Northern Colorado Communications. It replaced
the Windsor Tribune on July 4, 2007. It was born from the desire of Northern
Colorado Communications to give Windsor and Severance readers the hyper
local newspaper they requested for several years.

What is the history of the ownership?

August 2002: First edition of Windsor Tribune, published by the Greeley
Tribune, rolled off the presses
January 2006: Tom Fasano takes over as editor
December 2006: David Thiemann is named publisher
July 2007: Windsor Tribune ceases. In its place, Windsor Now launches.

Any history as to the frequency of publications?

Windsor Now started as a stand-alone publication of Northern Colorado
Communications three times a week ‹ Wednesday, Friday and Saturday ‹ in July
2007. It remains the same today.

Total region served and anything of special interest about the area:

We cover all of the Windsor and Severance area from Weld County Road 27 and
Colo. 392 on the east to Interstate 25 on the west and Colo. 14 on the north
to U.S. Hwy 34 on the south.

Anything of special interest about the newspaper?

Windsor Now was created after several years of hearing from our readers they
wanted a newspaper that was all about and only about Windsor and Severance.
It is distributed on the driveway to more than 8,200 homes in the area for
free three times a week and is available in newsstands for free around the
area. The paper focuses on local happenings and sports around the area
including the Larimer County Fair Grounds and the Budweiser Events Center.
The paper staffs three fulltime reporters ‹ Sherrie Peif, who covers local
government, features and writes the weekly column ³Whatever!² Jennifer
Moore, who covers education, fire and police; and Steve Puterski, who covers
sports. Windsor Now¹s advertising sales consultant is Cristin Peratt.
